New Orleans, LA (October 21)

We awoke to a rainy morning in New Orleans.  Having had so many of our port calls cancelled, we arrived here a day early and so will not disembark until tomorrow.

Pam went on a city tour and said it was awful. Other buses had good one, so it was the guide, not the itinerary.  Since I would have been on the same bus, selfishly I was glad that I stayed aboard to finish packing and nurse my cold in preparation for what sounded like a more interesting afternoon tour.

In rain, we boarded a bus and headed to the World War II National Museum.

It was a most impressive museum which we could not begin to take in during a two-hour visit. We happened to gravitate to the area presenting the campaign in the Pacific.  As we were leaving, we were already shuffling tomorrow's plans so that we could return in the morning to visit the area that focused on the European Theater.

In the evening, the show aboard AMERICA was an entertaining performance of World War II era songs performed by the Victory Belles. I will leave it to the reader to figure out where they perform regularly...or you can just click the link.
